Use the graph to check your reasoning.

Learn a few reliable calculator moves, then connect the output to the mathematics in the question.

Solve an intersection

For 2x + 3 = x + 7, enter y = 2x + 3 and y = x + 7. Their intersection has x-coordinate 4. Substitute 4 into the original equation to confirm both sides equal 11. The graph helps locate the solution; substitution checks it.

Check roots and scale

For y = x² − 5x + 6, look for intersections with the horizontal axis. The roots are 2 and 3, which match (x − 2)(x − 3). Adjust the viewing window if important features are outside the screen. A graph that looks empty is not proof of no solution.

Use the right calculator version
